    The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce is the state's largest statewide business and industry trade association, representing more than 5,000 companies and more than 500,000 employees. It coordinates South Carolina Business Week, where students receive private sponsorships to participate in a weeklong program that provides them with the opportunity to interact with business leaders and gain real world experience in the business field. It also administers High Performance Partnerships, funded by the South Carolina Commission on Higher Education and federal revenues, which recognizes individuals and businesses for their ongoing effort to help students achieve the academic and life skills necessary to participate in South Carolina's economy. The South Carolina Chamber co-sponsors statewide education summits, such as the Governor's Conference on Education.
