Business and Education Partnerships in Colorado
- Colorado Succeeds is a non-profit, non-partisan coalition of business leaders committed to improving education for workforce development and economic growth. It was founded on the premise that the business community has the obligation, opportunity and capacity to improve the state’s education system to prepare every student to succeed in a competitive international environment.
- Public Education and Business Coalition
PEBC was formed in 1995 through a merger of the Public Education Coalition and the Colorado Business Alliance for Youth. As a nonprofit coalition of business and education leaders, PEBC primarily provides professional development and best practice education for teachers. It conducts local and national seminars and institutes around such subjects as science instruction, literacy, and cognitive development. PEBC conducts outreach to businesses to become involved in education reform, through direct action, op-eds, and other advocacy efforts.
- P-20 Council
The purpose of the P-20 Council is to provide a forum for considering options and providing recommendations for the achievement of the education-oriented initiatives.
- The Fund for Colorado's Future
The Fund for Colorado's Future is a nonprofit organization, led by trustees who are state education, political, civic and business leaders, committed to raising standards and strengthening accountability in public schools. The Fund staffs the Education Alignment Commission, charged with recommending steps to raise high school standards. The Fund offers information for parents and educators about what they may do to raise achievement and standards. It also developed Smart Schools Academies in collaboration with the Colorado Association of School Boards and the Colorado Association of School Executives, to convene teams of education leaders from schools performing poorly on the state accountability report.
- The Colorado Children's Campaign
Since the Colorado Children's Campaign was established in 1985 as a statewide nonprofit organization, the organization has been the leading bi-partisan voice for the one million plus children living in Colorado. From the state capitol to communities across the state, the Colorado Children's Campaign focuses on expanding access to quality health care, early childhood experiences and K-12 education.
